    Tecktonik appeared in France in 2000 in Paris in a nightclub called Metropolis. It borrows heavily from elements of glowsticking, and hip-hop dance moves including popping and locking, vogue and wacking.



    K'pop singers/dancers like Koo Joon Yup (former member of Clon) and Hwang Bo have been marking the existance of Tecktonik in Korea. Koo Joon Yup - who runs some clubs in Seoul - is well known for being one of the best Tecktonik DJ's in South-Korea. He plays Tecktonik mixed with songs that he wrote by himself and performs his own style of Tecktonik dance which dedicates a lot in the development of this genre in South-Korea. Hwang Bo who recently released her latest abum represents her title song "Getting Hot." Furthermore, actors Jang Geun Suk and Go Ara, the models for the Etude Cosmetics line, have made tecktonik even more popular by featuring the dance it the latest cosmetics commericial.
